## Test 1

How does the type of circuit affect the strand of Christmas lights with a burned out bulb?

IV~ Type of Circuit

DV~ Bursted Bulb

If the Christmas lights are arranged in a parallel circuit when 1 bulb bursts, the other bulbs will work.

## Observations

I noticed that when you have a busted bulb, the other bulbs do work.

## Observations/Hypothesis 2

I noticed that when a bulb bursts, the others work, but appear to be dimmer.

If the Christmas lights are arranged in a series circuit, then when 1 bulb bursts the other bulbs don't work.

## Observations

I noticed that when a bulb bursts, the other bulbs do not work.

## Observations

I noticed that when your bulb bursts, then the others don't work without an object connected to the wire.

## Conclusion

In conclusion, a parallel circuit is the best to use for Christmas lights because if 1 bulb goes out, you would not have to worry about the others going out as well. I got this information from my tests, as when I constructed the parallel circuit, all the lights worked, as when I took one bulb out representing that it was busted, both the other lights still worked. When I had constructed the series circuit, all lights worked, as when I took one bulb out representing that it was busted, none of the lights worked.
