Hours and Services

Middle School Math Homework Help

Monday-Thursday 2:30-3:45

These after-school help sessions provide students with the extra assistance they need to excel in any middle school math class, including Algebra 1. All teachers present at homework help sessions are licensed to teach in Virginia and are intimately familiar with the math curriculum and the SOL end-of-course tests.

We aim for a student-to-teacher ratio of no greater than 8:1. Students can walk over from BMS, or you are welcome to drop your child off between 2:30 and 2:45 and return at 3:45. No reservations needed! Students can stop by for homework help whenever they need it.

Private and Small Group Tutoring

Monday-Thursday 4:00-9:00 (by appointment)

Private tutoring sessions are offered by Eric West, experienced math teacher, tutor, and test preparation specialist. One-on-one tutoring is recommended, but small group tutoring is possible if the students are friends and have the same learning objectives. Tutoring sessions typically begin on the hour and are 50 minutes long.

SAT Preparation Courses

2014: March 1-2, April 26-27, May 31-June 1

Eric West is a former test preparation instructor for Kaplan and is intimately familiar with the demands of these standardized tests. These SAT Preparation Courses are intensive, weekend-long study sessions that will help test takers reach their potential on the SAT. Students will leave the course knowing how to maximize their score on each section of the SAT: Reading, Writing, and Math. Eric's approach does not involve gimmicks or shortcuts, just solid advice on how the test is structured and what topics students should focus their energy on.

The March 1-2 session is geared toward students taking the March 8th administration. The April 26-27 session is geared toward students taking the May 3rd administration. And the May 31-June 1 session is geared toward students taking the June 7th administration. But students preparing for any future SAT or PSAT administration will find these courses to be extremely valuable!
