Romeo and Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is a Tragedy about 2 star-crossed lovers that come from feuding families. The Capulets and the Montegues. Romeo sees Juliet in the beginning of the play and falls in love with her, Juliet feels the same way about Romeo and the play is basically about them trying to keep their love a secret from others. When Juliet's father orders her to marry Count Paris she refuses and decides to take a sleeping potion. Romeo finds out and, thinking his angel is dead, he kills himself only for Juliet to awaken and do the exact same thing.
Romeo and Juliet was written in poem form. While not all of the lines rhymed Shakespeare made sure to have a certain number of syllables in each line to make the work flow more smoothly.
Hamlet
Hamlet is a depressed prince that had went to school in Denmark. Shortly after his father's death he is summoned home to attend the funeral of his father. He's shocked to see that his mother has already remarried to Hamlet's uncle. The ghost of Hamlet's father meets him, tells him he was murdered, and basically Hamlet swears revenge. Hamlet kills Claudius, his uncle and the new king, in the end.
Shakespeare like most of his plays wrote this in a poet type format. Making sure each line had a certain amount of syllables in it.
Macbeth
Macbeth finds some witches who tell him that he will be king. Without thinking of all the bad things that could come to him he kills the current king. He then kills his best friend, due to the fact the friend's children would be kings. He ends up massacring a guys family and is eventually taken down. Basically he ends up trying to get too much power and it consumes him the end, eventually killing him and crowning somebody else as the king he wanted to be.
Like all of Shakespeare's plays he made sure to have a certain number of syllables in each line.
