Growing with God... April 30, 2022

Dear St. Michael Preschool Families,

"You are rewarded not according to your work or your time but according to the measure of your love." St. Catherine of Siena

It is hard to believe that May is already here! Time sure does fly when you are having fun! And our loving and dedicated teachers have been filling each school day with meaningful and joyful learning.

Next week, May 2 – 6 is Teacher Appreciation Week. This yearly tradition at our parish schools is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate our amazing teachers for the important work they do; especially the extra effort and care they have put into providing a happy, healthy, and rewarding environment to learn and grow this year!

Please consider having your child bring in small tokens of appreciation for their teachers… hand-made cards, a flower, small treats, etc.

I thank you in advance for your support. These thoughtful gestures will mean so much to our teachers and show them just how special they are and how much we love and appreciate them!

In Christ,

Lisa Ciesla, Director

EARTH DAY IS EVERYDAY!

Miss Patty from Toward Zero Waste visited to explain how we can reduce, reuse, and recycle to help our planet. Miss Patty showed our preschoolers different pieces of trash and discussed whether they could be recycled or must be placed in the garbage. She discussed keeping our water sources and animals safe by recycling the goods we use. Thank you for helping your child recycle at home.

LIFE CYCLE OF THE BUTTERFLY

"Then God said: Let the earth bring forth every kind of living creature." Genesis 1:24

God's creatures are amazing! Our preschoolers are observing the miracle of metamorphosis with butterflies. We will keep you updated on their progress, especially when the teachers create a fun kid-sized butterfly house so the children can experience them up close.

FAMILY FUN

MUSIC & MOVEMENT W/MISS KAREN

Hello families!

Music class is all abuzz at this time of the year! We are beginning to practice our end-of-year programs (which we will perform in person in May). The children are really excited about singing for all of you! You just might hear about some of the songs, but we are doing our best to keep them a surprise!

We are also singing about spring, flowers, frogs, farms, and Humpty Dumpty! We will be using the parachute with spring flowers and egg shakers for Easter! Our Clifford Class will begin a space unit and we will be going for a Rocketship Run!

Here are a few selections that we will be enjoying this month:

Five Green and Speckled Frogs

It's Gonna Rain using egg shakers

Humpty Rap

Rocketship Run

I look forward to seeing all of you in person for our end-of-year performances next Month!

God bless you and your families,

Ms. Karen
