Fearless Teaching Inspires Fearless Learning
Message from the Elementary
New Face in the Elementary Office!
We are pleased that Heather (Brown) Hon has joined our staff in the office. Heather was a long term resident of Adrian and she/her family has returned to the area. If you come into the office, please make sure to introduce yourself and get acquainted.
Santa’s Workshop
A huge thank you to the PTO for putting on the annual Santa’s Workshop. Students were able to shop for $1 gifts and have them wrapped, ready to give to family and friends. It was wonderful for us to hear what their thought-processes were in selecting gifts. This activity also promotes sharing, empathy, and thinking of others. What great lessons for students to learn and practice!
Pick-Up/Drop-Off Reminders
As it gets colder, there is usually an increase in car-rider traffic. There are a few things to keep in mind to keep this process running smoothly:
· Notes or emails to the classroom teacher are the best way to ensure that students are sent home as families intend.
· If there is an unscheduled change in your student’s transportation status, please call the elementary office before 2:30 p.m. All other previously known changes need to be sent to the classroom teacher or office via note or email.
· At drop-off, please pull as far forward as possible. At the elementary doors, this means up to the crosswalk.
· At pick-up, be watching for students crossing streets and be considerate of other drivers while entering and exiting the lines.
Winter Recess
Recess will be outdoors unless the temperature, including wind chill, drops below 22 degrees. It is really important that students be prepared to go out to recess. This includes a coat, head covering (hood or hat), and hands covered (mittens or gloves). As weather fluctuates, layers also help students to regulate body temperature by adding/removing them. If your student is missing any clothing or outerwear items, please have them check the benches outside the elementary office.

Message from the Middle and High School
Students and teachers are busy focused on learning while in school. We have been meeting to discuss curriculum and our assessments to ensure that we are meeting the needs of each student as they learn and meet the standards.
Our focus for this year has been around the idea of Fearless Teaching. We want to inspire our teachers to make an impact on the lives of our students. We also hope that our students are inspired to be fearless in trying new adventures as they begin to focus on their next step after high school.
We continue to focus on attendance policies and making sure that students are here during the day to to gain the knowledge from their teachers and classroom discussions. Parents, thank you for getting your children here every day so they can be prepared to be successful in their futures.
