Welcome Back Team VI!

Special thanks to Ms. Bri, Ms. Suthaboon, Ms. Lisa and VI staff from Skyline and Bret Harte who braved a night at Camp Enchanted Hills last week with our students with Visual Impairments. Ms. Bri organized this trip through writing a grant to Philanthropic Ventures and through Donor's Choose donations. So fun to see our kids doing archery, spending a night away from the city, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors.

For PD This Week

1) Meet in Room 10- Mindfulness (Ms. Toller)

2) Bring your assessment, thoughts, reflections, and A-ha's from Last Week's F & P Callibration, we will debrief the group process.

3) Time for Working on your F& P prepping for testing coming up in the next month!

Keep on Conferring!

Keep on keeping on with the conferring!

Operations & Logistics

Orders for Next Year- Past Due

Orders WERE Due on 4/24 to Ms. Walker

If you didn't turn in your order, please communicate directly with Ms. Walker and Ms. Brown-Clarke to ask for an extension. Our school budget closes very soon and we are not allowed to make orders when the books close, so all order that aren't in ASAP will not be filled until August.

Moving Questions

I have asked the Jennifer and Bart as representatives of OEA to come up with a proposal that we can share with the district re: moving needs for 2015-16 by May 1. There is a moving company that is hired to support us in moving, but we will want to make sure that staff is compensated for moving time and we will want clarity on this going into 2015-16. If you have suggestions or want to advocate for this, please speak to Bart and Jennifer.

Say Goodbye to Edusoft- New Technology Platform for 2015-16

Illuminate will be our new online assessment system as part of OUSD1.

This will our new one stop shop for teachers that we will be trained on soon!

OUSD1 will provide one starting place for accessing all online resources using the same sign on information.

As part of OUSD1 we will also be transitioning from ABI to Aeries.net for attendance and grade reporting.

This month we are working with school representatives and other partners to build a comprehensive training and support plan. Go to the OUSD1 website for more details

Dibels?

There will be no DIBELS in 2015-16. Stay tuned for more assessment info. as I get it....

Social Emotional Learning

Re-teach and Stay Positive

Spring fever may be setting in...this is a great time to re-teach your behavior expectations to keep your students on track for the last 8 weeks. Maybe set your own class goals about being responsible? Put some positive incentives in place for individual students or groups on staying respectful?

Safety First

Next Drill

Our next "surprise" drill will be an earthquake drill.

1) Drop under the desk and hold on.

2) Exit the building calmly and quietly like a fire drill and wait for directions.
