School Starts Tuesday!

Monday August 8th is WWA's Supply Drop Off & Meet the Teacher from 4:00 - 5:00 PM for 1st - 6th grade. Please try and make it if at all possible sometime during that one hour period of time. Parents can also set up their child's lunch account in person during that time. You may also do this online from home by clicking on this LINK.


Kindergarten Parent Orientation and Supply Drop Off is Tuesday August 9th. Students will start the day at 8:45 AM with teachers. Parents will meet with the Principal at 9:00 AM in the WWA Multi-Purpose Room. Around 9:15 AM parents will meet teachers and begin their parent orientation


School starts Tuesday August 9th at 8:45 AM. Students can arrive at school as early as 8:25 AM for the first week including breakfast or lining up. Beginning Monday August 15th students can arrive as early as 8:15 AM for morning recess or breakfast.


The first day and first two weeks of school will be a little hectic feeling until everyone gets into their normal routine for drop off and pick up. Make sure to leave a little earlier at first until you find the time that works best for your family. When picking up, make sure to follow all the signage, be patient, safety for all students and staff is of the utmost importance. At the end of the first two weeks, student pick up should be completed no later than 3:30 PM at the latest and normally by 3:25 PM.


The Whispering Wind Academy teaching staff has been having an excellent week of preparation for students and are excited to start the school year! The 2022-2023 New School Year is going to be a great beginning!

New Gifted Identification Procedures - Parents Please Read!

This year, all elementary schools will have the same open and close deadline.


The parent permission slips for the fall and spring gifted testing will be made available on our website for parents to review and complete. Website

Below are some important dates for parents to know of and attend:

Kindergarten:


  • Kindergarten - Supply Drop Off will occur on August 9th at Kindergarten Orientation
  • Student & Parent Orientation - 9:00 am - 11:00 am; Parents drop kiddos off with teachers at 8:45 am & head to the WWA MPR
  • First Day of School - August 10th 8:45 am - 3:05 pm
  • Dismissal is at 3:05 pm daily for Kindergarten students
  • Beginning August 15th, Morning Recess starts at 8:15 am


Grades 1-6:


  • Supply Drop Off - August 8th 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
  • First Day of School - August 9th 8:45 am - 3:15 pm
  • Drop off the week of August 9th as early as 8:25 am
  • Beginning August 15th, Morning Recess starts at 8:15 am


Curriculum Night Grades 1 - 6 - August 23rd:


  • Grades 1 & 2, Bastida, Juric, Anderson, Gifted 4th: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
  • Grades 3 & 4, Stewart, Fitzpatrick, Gifted 5/6: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
  • Grades 5 & 6: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm


All parents need to update your students' emergency card following the process described below!

Our wonderful parent representatives from the MPO & PTSO have graciously put together a sign up genius LINK to continue the tradition of providing breakfast for our staff on August 2nd, the first day back for our teachers. If you are able and willing to sign up and bring an item in, it would be greatly appreciated to welcome our teachers back for the start of a great year!

The Annual Update allows you to make any updates to your contact information such as address changes, phone number changes, changes to a child’s health history, as well as update emergency contact information. This will replace the printed Emergency Card.

  • Please go to Portal.pvschools.net.

  • Select More and then Annual Update.

  • You may also click the Annual Update link on the

Announcement Page.

From Our Nutrition And Wellness Department!

The Nutrition & Wellness Department will return to charging students for their meals based on their free, reduced, and paid meal application status during the 2022-2023 SY. The 2022-2023 Free & Reduced Meal Application will be available starting Monday, July 11, 2022 for parents to complete. Online meal applications can be completed at EZMealApp.com; this paperless option is encouraged because online applications can be processed within 24 hours of their submission.
