Sixth Grade Newsletter

Dear Parents,
Welcome back! We had a great first week of school!
English
Last week, we started looking for "reading signposts" that are common in most fiction stories. The first signpost is Contradiction and Contrast, which is when a character does something unexpected. We will be practicing this week with more short stories. Students will also have an opportunity to write each day.
Math
During the first week of school, students practiced multi-digit division and learned about prime factorization. They have 1 assignment due on Monday, September 11: Page 15 (2-8), and Page 16 (4-6).
This week, students will learn about multiples, factors, and adding/subtracting decimals. They will also take the NWEA Fall test this week.
