Mrs. Eaton's Class


This week we will continue our soil unit! Students will be exploring and observing different types of soil. They will make observations of what each is made of and where it might be located! We will discuss the types of soil that are located in our climate.


On Monday students will take their fraction test. We will spend the morning reviewing the the size of various fractions (fractions with the same denominators and fractions with the same numerator), fractions on number lines, division and fractions, and creating fractions from a shape. The rest of the week will be spent on 2D and 3D shapes. Important vocabulary for this week includes rhombus, quadrilateral, parallelogram, angles (acute, obtuse, and right), edge, vertex, face, and base.

Genius Hour/Research

Students will be finishing this week and presenting their Genius Hour project on Thursday!

Language Arts

We will review synonyms and antonyms for their vocabulary work this week! Students will be brainstorming these throughout the week.

Important Information

Book Fair- We will be going to the Book Fair on Tuesday at 8:00-8:30. You are more than welcome to join us!

Guidance Lesson- On Wednesday our class will be visiting Mrs. Sutton for a guidance lesson over peer pressure.

Sharkarosa- Friday we will be going to Sharkarosa! Please make sure your child is wearing an OSE shirt, brings a sack lunch and drink, and wears comfortable clothes. We will be outside most of the day so please have them dress accordingly... and we will be doing a lot of walking! We will be leaving at 8:40 and returning around 2:00-2:30.

Dia Day- April 29th students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character!
