summer school registration
Greeting Bulldog Students and Parents,
Today is the beginning of remedial summer school registration. Remedial summer school is FREE; it will be offered online and face-to-face. If you have failed a course, you received a letter from the district informing you that you will need to attend summer school, the letters were uploaded to the student portfolio in Skyward. Some students will grade average and earn the credit after finals exams, if you are one of those students you will be contacted by your counselor to let you know if you need summer school or not. Please check your district email daily. In order to sign up for remedial summer school for classes that you failed, please follow these steps:
- Go to the AHS website: https://www.fortbendisd.com/ahs
- Go to Students and Parents
- Go to Counseling
- Go to Alternative Credit Options
- Go to Summer School
- Scroll down to Registration Form
- Fill the form out and save it
- Please make sure that you indicate your choice of online or face to face instruction
- Look below the registration form and click on Upload Registration Form
- Answer the questions on the google form and upload the document
- The first session of summer school is June 13-30
- The second session of summer school is July 11-28
If you do not have access to technology, you may stop by the counseling center to get a registration form.

Student Recognition
United Nations Ambassador Award
Ananya Gokul from Austin High School is being recognized for community service as National Award earner and as an inspiration for other students to get involved in their community. The 5th Annual National Community Service Awards connect student service activity to the UN Global Goals. This year we have additional recognition for students working toward a world of Zero Hunger and Zero Waste as well as State Level honors for community impact.
This award program has been designed to elevate and expand the awareness of youth leaders contributing time and talent to drive positive progress toward global issues. We want to share our appreciation for you and your team who have made the choice to include community service as part of the educational experience at Austin High School

Austin HS Fine Arts Scholarships
The FBISD Fine Arts Department continued their efforts this year to track all scholarships received by our FBISD Fine Arts students and to celebrate the accomplishments of those students. As of May 10, the total amount of scholarships self-reported by FBISD Fine Arts Seniors this year is over $18 million! Thank you to our fine arts teachers who helped encourage students to submit their scholarship information. We know this number is not all inclusive and that we were not able to capture all scholarships received but we are proud of all of our Fine Arts Seniors and hope to capture a more accurate number as we continue our tracking efforts in years to come.
In lieu of a live Fine Arts Recognition Night, we will once again create a Fine Arts Scholar publication to share with select students, staff and media. We have designated the top five individual earners for each campus based on the total scholarship amounts reported as Fine Arts Scholars.
Thank you to our Fine Arts Department for their guidance and commitment to our students and their success!
