Monday Morning Memo - Week 8
10/20/19
Dear Poupard Leaders,
Kids Club
I’m excited to share that Kids Club is offering scholarships for students that qualify for free and reduced lunch at school. The scholarship would reduce the daily price of attendance at Kids Club by 50%. Additionally, the registration and deposit costs are being waived completely which accounts for a $150 savings right off the bat.
Additional information regarding the Kids Club scholarship offer is available on the flyer in the information center downstairs and inside the office. Families can scan the QR code on the flyer to get access to registration page on our district website.
Families should contact Sara Schram, Assistant Director of School-Age Child Care for additional information. She can be reached at schrams@gpschools.org or 313-432-3067.
Staffing Update
I wanted to take a moment to update you all on the two openings at our building. We have selected a new School Psychologist and she is slated to begin the week of November 4th. Marsida is currently a School Psychologist for Taylor Public School District and is excited to be joining the Grosse Pointe Team. She brings nearly 10 years of experience at the role and familiarity of working in Wayne County.
Last week, we interviewed 3 candidates for the long-term substitute position in 5th grade. At this time, we're still reviewing incoming applications and will be working to set up additional interviews this week.
Staff Meeting
Tuesday's staff meeting has been canceled. We will be going over the originally scheduled Cultural Competency training during the November 5th Election Day PD instead.
Schedule
Thank you to everyone that has sent me their daily schedule already. I am still waiting to receive a few of them. We use these schedules to determine our Title 1 support schedules, interventions and coordinating intentional classroom visits. Please be sure to send your schedules to me by the end of the week.
Let's have great week team!

Class Newsletters
Please share your weekly newsletters with me by "Ccing" me when they are emailed out to families. This allows for me to stay connected with all of the exciting things happening inside of your classrooms.
GES3
Our GES3 meeting dates and deadlines have been established by the team. You can access that information below. It will also be made available on our Poupard Schoology page.
GES3 Dates and Information Page
Walkie Talkie
All Classroom Teachers should have received a Walkie Talkie. Please take it with you when you take your students outside for an extra recess. The office staff will use it to locate individual students, typically for early dismissal.Emergency Information
Please be sure to review all of the emergency information for fire drills and tornado drills inside of your classrooms. We will be doing a sweep to make sure your emergency bags are stocked with everything that necessary and include updated rosters as they become available.
Behavior Referrals
Behavior Referrals must be completed using the Online Behavior Form. Staff must complete the behavior form anytime a student is sent down to the office for a major office referral. Homeroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers are responsible for contacting the family to notify them of any incidents that occurred inside of the classroom. Please call home over an email whenever possible. Personally, I'd recommend sharing anything over 3-4 sentences over a phone call as well.
