MyOptions Survey Packages Delivered

As another academic year begins, SkillsUSA has partnered with MyOptions to provide postsecondary planning for students. This free, voluntary program is conducted through a customized survey program. It has been developed to not only provide college and career planning resources to SkillsUSA students, but also provide customized reporting to instructors.

Packages began shipping Aug. 29 to select classrooms. If your classroom was selected, you will receive a postcard a few days before the survey packages arrives. Once you have received your package, please take 20 minutes to pass a copy out to all students, have them complete the form and return it in the postage paid envelope provided. There is an educator survey form so SkillsUSA can also collect your valued feedback. Packages should be returned as soon as possible but within six weeks of receiving them.

If you do not receive a postcard or package and would like to participate, please request a package at: https://myoptions.org/educators. If you have any questions, please send an email to peggy@myoptions.org.

Plan Now to Participate in Manufacturing Day

SkillsUSA traditionally participates in Manufacturing Day, a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation. While Manufacturing Day is officially the first Friday in October — this year, Oct. 4 — SkillsUSA chapters can hold events on any date in October that works best. Events for students can include a plant tour, a virtual tour or an event on your campus that highlights manufacturing.

SkillsUSA chapters are asked to share their Manufacturing Day photos and stories with national communications specialist Hayley Uffelman at huffelman@skillsusa.org. For resources, or to find events in your area, go to: www.mfgday.com
