The total area of Botswana is 581,730 sq km. They have warm winters and hot summers, so a warmer place. Their natural resources are diamonds, copper, nickel, salt, soda ash, potash, coal, iron ore, and silver. Some major landforma in Botswana include the Kalahari desert. The capital is Gaborone and a some major cities include . . . Francistown, Lobatse, Selebi-Phikwe and Jwaneng. The major river of Botswana is the boateti Zambezi, ahe Okavango delta. the Kalhri is the biggest landform in Botswana that has exotic animals, and over 12 million acres of it. It is also one of the largest game reserves in the world. The Okavango Delta is the most prized safiri in Africa. Decertification in Botswana is one of the most effect countries of it. Desertification is when the process which fertal land becomes a desert, tipically results of drought. Botswana is going through them a lot because of the desert, and it is warm there. It effects them by having little water, so you annot grow crops, and will not have anough water for everyone if desertification keeps on happening in Botswana.

1965- BDP wins the legeslative elections, and are first to be held under universal adult suffrage.
1665-Seretse Khama becomes Prime Minister.
1966 - Independence from Great Britain
1966- Bechuanaland is granted independence and becomes republic of Botswana with Seretse Khama as presedent.
1980- Presedent Seretse Khama dies. Quett Masire, former vice president is made presedent after the NAtional essembly voted.

The religions in Botswana are Christian, Banimo, other, unspecified, and none. Their holidays are a lot like ours, they have Botswana Day, Sir Seretse Day, Ascension Day, and our types of holidays. The Tswana ethnic group loves to share their love fror their traditions. Those include singing and dancing.

Their government type is a parliamentary republic. Their national holiday is independence day, 30 september 1966. Their legal system is a mixed legal system of cicil law influenced by the roman-dutch model. In the executive branch, the chief of state is president Seretse Khama Ian since April, 1 2008. The Legislative branch consists of a house of chiefs, office members consisting of the chiefs of the principal, and 27 non-permanent members serving 5 year terms. In the Judicial branch's highest courts are the court of Appeal, and High Court. Each consists of a chief justice and number of other judges as prescribed by the Parliament. Their national symbol is a zebra. Their political parties are Botswana Alliance Movement or BAM, Botswana Congress Party or BCP, Botswana democratic party or BDP, Botswana Movement for Democracy or BMD, Botswana National Front or BNF.
