SHISD Mid-Week Message
Weekly Superintendent's Message for Spring Hill ISD
Snowpalooza 2018
Panther Nation,
Welcome Back! The last few days have been hectic, but as you can see from the photos below, families made the most of the snow and cold. Regardless of the weather, we are going to have a great 2018 in Spring Hill. Each campus has great things planned for the spring semester. Be sure to follow your campuses and SHISD on Facebook and the SHISD app to stay connected.
Kudos:
- I just want to say thank you so very much for all of the help and support I received for the art show! I am so proud of all of the hard work these students put into their projects! I am looking forward to the rest of the year and the incredible creations that will be made. Again, thank you all for your support in the art program! - Ms. Buzinski
- I want to thank everyone who helped get schedules out on the first day back but I want to give an extra special thank you to Melissa Haney, Connie Johnson, Tina Lee & Monica Miller who volunteered to help with this during their conference time. - CeCe Bernard
- Ms. Prince, Mrs. Cloud & our Maintenance men (Gene & Tim) went above and beyond this week to help meet a need of one of our intermediate students! -Caroline Cole
- A huge thank you to Mrs. Snell for doing an absolutely amazing job as my long term sub while I was out on maternity leave. She went way above and beyond and it was such a gift to not have to worry about school while I was out. Coming back was hard, but knowing that I was coming back to a well-run classroom made it easier. Thank you, Mrs. Snell! Thank you also to everyone else on the high school campus who helped Mrs. Snell and me in various ways while I was gone! It is a great campus. -Emmie Drueckhammer
- The office of SH Intermediate took care of every need while I was out on maternity leave. KUDOS to Natalie Mercer, because I did not have to do a single thing while I was out. She handles many meetings with parents and students. My committee groups also worked their tails off to make sure Red Ribbon week went well and Career day! KUDOS to Becky Patak for doing a fantastic job with Career Day. I know there were many more who helped while I was out, and I am so very thankful for Intermediate staff! I felt so welcomed when I came back, it made the transition so much better. THANK YOU!! - Caroline Cole
- Right before Thanksgiving, our BIM students took a Microsoft Office Specialist test for certification. We had 40+ students pass. Their certificates are on the wall outside of our classroom. Mr. Robinett took the time to write down each of their names and then write each student a note praising them for their accomplishment. I thought that was pretty neat of him to do. -Connie White
Condolences:
- Our condolences to Holly Whittington on the loss of her father.
- Our condolences to Tammy Bailey and family on the loss of her stepdad.

Updates to Wireless on All Campuses
A few months ago the School Board approved updating our wireless connectivity. As you can see in the picture there was issues getting iPads, Chromebooks and laptops to connect in the classrooms throughout the District.
The Spring Hill IT Department added 42,000 feet of cable, that is equal to 8 miles!!! It took them 8 days to install. Installation occurred late into the evenings after the students and staff had left.
Now with the new cables and switches, every student and teacher in the District will have better access to wireless and they will not have to spend time waiting to connect their device.
Congratulations to Grace Mason on her Retirement!!!
