The first week of February we are assessing the students on correct words read per minute, accuracy and retell to assess growth in fluency. We will begin our I-Ready diagnostics the week of February 20th to assess overall growth.
Our afterschool clubs have been so much fun! Our knitting and art club just finished and new clubs are about to begin!

Thank you to our Parents who attended our School Site Council and Parent Teacher Group Meeting: The Parent Teacher Group is working on planning a fun day for our students at the end of the year! We could use more support! The next meeting is February 29th 3 pm. Please join us, all are welcome!!
Our fourth and fifth grade girls basketball teams did amazing this year. They played against older students and they kept a positive attitude and did their best! Great Job Girls!
Great job to all the boys who tried out for the basketball teams. It is so difficult for the coaches to make the team and wish we could have a spot for everyone but we do not have the coaches or the resources to do this.
Congratulations to the Fourth Grade Boys Basketball Team:
Congratulations to the Fifth Grade Boys Basketball Team:
If your student did not make the team, we have a basketball club on Monday and Wednesdays from 3-4 pm! Permission slips must be turned in to participate by 2/5/24.
Shady Creek Field Trip for 2024-2025 school year!
Shady Creek is a three night, four day environmental camp. Our fourth grade class will be attending next year. In order to attend we must have parent volunteers to stay in the cabins with the students. These parents must be cleared through our district through the volunteer process. We will need to have the parents cleared before the end of this school year to commit to going! The reserved dates for Shady Creek are the week before our October intercession. Please begin the process so we can be sure we have enough parent volunteers.
Literacy Chat on February 1st!
One of our school’s main focuses this year is literacy. Literacy is a building block skill that will support students with fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Every student participates in a SOAR (Student Opportunities for Achievement in Reading) class, this is a school wide reading intervention/enrichment block.
Students were given a reading screener in December and based on those results your student is currently placed in a SOAR class that focuses on an area of need. If you are interested in learning specific strategies on how to help your child with this please come to our Literacy Chat on February 1st at 3 pm . We will meet in the Golden Hills STEAM room. We hope to see you there, if you let us know you are coming ahead of time we will have specific resources for your student! Please call the office or email to email@example.com
Thank you to the families that attended!
