We know information is of the essence for all our seniors and their families. That is the reason why we have been working very hard planning and making sure we are ready to send you important information you need to know.
Please know Monte Vista does not function the same way other schools do.
We normally send out the information you need to know in mid February or early March.
Please be on the lookout for the Grad & Promotion Flyers going out next week with all the detailed information for Graduation Ceremony & 8th Grade Promotion 2022!

COUNTY OF VENTURA MASK MANDATE
Many of you have already heard that the state of California is revising the mask mandates as of Wednesday, February 16. Please note that as of this time, California and Ventura County school mask mandates are not changing. (Please see notice below with information from the Ventura County Public Health.) We have heard that in the coming weeks, there will be additional guidance for schools on the mask mandate and we will continue to monitor the situation and inform our families and students as the updates come. Thank you.

Yearbooks will not be printed until later in the spring,
thus they will not be distributed until the end of the school year.
3RD GRADE FIELD TRIP
Strathearn Historical Museum
Our 3rd Grade class will be going to the Strathearn Historical Museum on March 15!

Back by popular demand, the planted succulent bowl IS BACK!
Spring is just around the corner and it's time for February's class!
The planted succulent bowl is a favorite. We'll have a wide assortment of succulents and a couple of choices of clay pot types so each of you can customize your planter!
We’ll have the succulents, pots, rocks, soil, and other supplies for you to pick up at Monte Vista. The materials will be available for pickup the following dates in the MPR:
Wednesday, February 23 - 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Thursday, February 24 - 9:30 am - 5:00 pm
Unfortunately, there will NOT be a live Zoom class!
However a YouTube video will be available to watch with all the info and directions needed.
A $10 donation to help cover the costs of the supplies is suggested.
~ RSVP's MUST be received by Tuesday, February 22nd ~
There is no 4H on February 24

Next 4H Class is March 3rd
Sew potholders—Sign up for apron or pillowcase project—Transplant winter sowing project seedlings on our lab schedule or Facebook. You can also email Mrs. Egermeier to sign up at firstname.lastname@example.org
We will be checking our winter sowing project to see if the seedlings are ready to be planted or transplanted. If the seedlings are big enough, students will be able to bring some home too.

The tiny egg on the left was laid by one of our new girls who hatched in October.
Eggs increase in size as the hen continues laying.

Students will learn about fitness and play a variety of games that will help them recognize the benefits but also the potential fun involved with exercise. Students will also learn how to report their progress using both narratives and charts & graphs.

ART LAB NEXT WEEK!
Next week's art class will be "All About Masks" where we'll be creating and decorating fun masquerade masks using a basic mask template and a variety of decorating materials.
Right after Tuesday's art class, around 1:45 pm,
I will be heading to our school garden to add flowering plants
to our NEW "Art Class Garden Box."
