Specialties Update

We will have one more computer lab session to work on power points. Students should know how to find their presentation in Google Slides. Please make sure that you have inserted pictures at home. Also, if they have lots of text to still type in the presentation you might assist with that at home as well.

If your child finishes their power point at home please "share" it with me. You will see a share button at the top right of the screen. Below is the email address to type in.

A table of contents will be sent home at the beginning of January for student to organize their binder. The complete and organized binder will be due to me on January 13th. There will be no more pages that we will add to the binder. If your child is missing any pages make sure they return the specialty list to me noting the missing pages.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Zionsville History

A big thank to Mrs. Atkinson who braved the last week of school to teach our December Zionsville History lesson. Students learned about how pioneers may have built a 3-sided structure called a lean-to. We got to create these with graham crackers and frosting. This was a tasty lesson.

NWEA Testing

We will take our Winter NWEA testing upon our return in January. As soon as I have the schedule I will email it out to you.

Wish List

Our classroom is in need of glue sticks, hand sanitizer, and Clorox wipes. If you could donate some I would much appreciate it.

Classroom Help

Please consider signing up to help out in the classroom after the new year. I am looking for gym teachers and volunteers to make my weekly copies . Please click the link and sign up today before all the good slots are taken.

(the first snow day will be made up at the end of May) The e-day will be posted on my Canvas page the morning of the 2nd snow day. Students have practiced logging onto Canvas and have practiced moving through a module here at school. The e-day activities include logging onto Brain Pop, and Scootpad. The passwords are taped into your child's planner. If they forget how to log onto these sights, I have uploaded "helpful hints" on the module page. If you have questions I will be available the day via e-mail if needed.

Winter Weather

Each child is expected to be suitably dressed for outdoor and alternate school activities. As the weather turns colder, each child needs a winter coat, hat, and gloves. Snow pants and boots are required when there is snow on the ground. All children play outside except on rainy, icy, or very cold days (wind chill below the 10-20 degree range). Inside recess will be held on those exceptional days.
