The Deaths of Romeo and Juliet
Friar Laurence should be the one to blame.
Evidence 1
Even though there were many problems that lead to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, Friar Laurence should be the one to blame.First of all, he was the one who gave Juliet the risky plan to drink the potion and fake her death so she can avoid marrying Paris. In the text it states, “Take thou this vial, being then in bed...When presently through all the veins shall run a cold and drowsy humour, for new pulse” ( Act IV Scene I)Once Juliet is offered the potion, she stresses about all the things that could go wrong. Also, Friar Laurence is helping her do the wrong decision. He knows that Romeo and Juliet are in two different houses.

Evidence 2
Also, Friar Laurence is the one who is agreeing that it would be a great idea for Romeo and Juliet to marry. In the text it states, “She’s not well married that lives married long; But she’s best married that dies married young”(Act IV Scene V). Friar Laurence knows how Juliet feels about marrying Paris. Even though everyone is suggesting her to marry Paris, she would rather marry her true love Romeo and be happy with her life. As you can see, Friar Laurence is responsible for Romeo and Juliet's death.
