St. Mary's Catholic School
Weekly Snapshot Newsletter-Week of April 30th - May 4th
Happy Fifth Sunday of Easter! This week at St. Mary's we are blessed to be able to experience Eucharistic Adoration!
What is Eucharistic Adoration?
Have you ever been over at a good friend’s house for supper, someone that you really enjoy being with, and when you finish eating, you want to spend more time with that friend, so you talked in the living room, or went outside on the porch? Eating a meal with your friend was satisfying, but you still wanted to relax and just hang around for just a little while longer.
Well, since the Mass is the source and summit of our Christian life, it means a lot to us; it is a holy meal where we partake of the Body and Blood of Jesus. But like any friend, we need some extra time together to develop our friendship with Jesus even more. We can do this with Jesus in our adoration of Him before the tabernacle or, more directly by gazing on the Blessed Sacrament (the bread which is truly Jesus) - exposed in the monstrance (from the Latin meaning to "demonstrate" or "show") for adoration.
We will have Holy Mass together as a school on Monday, and following this, during the week each class will have an opportunity to experience spending time in Eucharistic Adoration - one of the most beautiful prayers of the Church. It is quite literally a chance to spend time with Jesus. How blessed we are that our Lord offers himself to us in the form of bread and wine!
Thank you to all who came out to our Open House, and a HUGE thank you to our amazing Volunteer Students!

St. Mary's Cell Phone Policy
Hence, St. Mary's will now be uniformly enforcing classrooms as cell phone free zones. Students will still be able to access their phones during breaks, lunch, and before and after school. However, usage during class will be restricted. This means if you need to contact your son or daughter during class times you will need to first contact the office.
Students in violation of the cell phone policy will have their phones retained at the office until the end of the school day. Parental contact will be made for repeat offenders.
One to One Technology Initiative - INFO
Gearing up for Year 3 of the One-to-One Technology Program
With the successful implementation of the One to One technology program, EICS is excited to enter into year 3 of the initiative.
Beginning in September of 2018-2019, the option to purchase or lease to own a Chromebook will be offered by Staples and not directly from the school.
Because of the positive feedback we’ve received from you about the service and support provided by Staples, we continue to recommend them to our parent community.
Here is a link to their most recent offer, which now includes payment options.
We will continue to maintain a small inventory of Chromebooks at the school in the event that the student forgets to bring or charge their own device.
Any further questions, please contact your school administration.
