A note from Mrs. Fadeji ...
Boundaries. Need some?
We all struggle with boundaries. Let me tell you something, kids CRAVE them. Boundaries allow kids to feel safe. Boundaries give space for learning opportunities. We owe our kids boundaries. Life isn't going to allow them to be successful without understanding and respecting boundaries.
Every so often, I read an article that resonates deeply because I know it hits home with some of you based on our recent conversations. I thought some of you may appreciate this one titled, Why Children Need Healthy Boundaries to Make it in the Real World as Adults. If you can move past the annoying ads on the page, it's a great read.
One of the most powerful take aways for me was a point the author makes about our power as parents and educators to delay gratification. "One of the key factors for future success is a person’s ability to delay gratification. We all strive to make our children happy, but in many cases, we only make them happy for a brief moment and increasingly unhappy in the long run."
Happy reading!
Amy

Penn Panther's Art Goes to State!
We are excited to announce Penngrove Elementary has a student going onto State Level for the Nationally run PTA program, Reflections!
Shaan Ghoman had his literature piece, Within Me, compete with students across Sonoma and Mendocino County to be the 2019/2020 entry for State. Congratulations Shaan, we are super proud to have a Panther showcased at this years PTA Convention again!
Reflections Arts Program
Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. The theme for the 2019-2020 program year was Look Within. Students submitted their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
National PTA’s Reflections program has helped students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.

All orders placed by the deadlines will be shipped free to the school and will be received the first week of April. If you miss these dates you can still order but have to pay your own shipping directly to your home.
