The Pizitz Post
for Students, Parents & Families - October 10, 2022
Fall Break
We sincerely hope that you and your family are enjoying a nice fall break. Our students and teachers have completed a busy first nine weeks, and it is time for a little rest. Whether you are staying home, or have planned a trip, we encourage you to unplug and spend intentional time together as a family. The weather has been beautiful- make plans to get outside and enjoy it. We look forward to seeing our students back at school on Wednesday morning.

Our final two games of the season are this week.
The 7th grade will play in the 3rd-4th place game, against Bumpus Middle School on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

We are looking forward to closing out the season with two more great nights in Finley Memorial Stadium! Come out and cheer on our Pirates! Let's go!
Living History Day
Join PTO Today!
Please consider joining the Pizitz PTO. If you are not a member of PTO, you will miss out on communications about Living History Day, Career Day, Pirates' Day, class parties and room parent information.
The $10 fee to join goes right back to our fabulous school by supporting teacher grant requests, school events, and treats and surprises for our teachers.
If you think you joined this year, please double check by using the link here. We are missing a lot of families who have been members in the past. Reach out to Lindsey Derieux (lindseyderieux@yahoo.com) or Kellie Box (kellie1075@bellsouth.net) with questions about PTO.

Hike the Hill
Hike the Hill was established by the Vestavia Hills Rotary Club as a family fun event promoting health and wellness to support Vestavia Hills Community Schools. The “hill” symbolizes a student’s climb from elementary school that finishes on the “hill” at VHHS and recognize the climb of life-long learning that connects all of us. Everyone is encouraged to wear their t-shirt and hike one of the four routes found at www.vestaviarotary.org during November 1-15 (during the heart of Veteran Day Celebrations) and join the community hike on Sunday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. (beginning at the bridge across from Andy’s Nursery).
Please register for Hike the Hill www.vestaviarotary.org by October 17 to recognize a veteran in
your family and be included on the Hike the Hill t-shirt. Proceeds will support the Pizitz
Veterans Day program, Vestavia City Schools Foundation and more!
