HEMLOCK MIDDLE SCHOOL
May 1st - May 7th
Weekly Update from our Superintendent
This week is our 33rd week for the 2020-2021 school year.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. If there is one thing everyone can agree on, it is that our teachers are amazing; they are real-life everyday superheroes.
We continue to work toward providing our students with the best school experience possible. This past week we had some non-school-related close contact quarantines of students (i.e., parent(s) tested positive, their child(ren) stay(s) home for 14 days).
It continues to be of the utmost importance for parents to keep sick children home. This helps protect our face-to-face instruction and services from disruption.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.
All the best,
Don

Hemlock 7th & 8th Grade Club Softball Results
Hemlock 11 vs Swan Valley 5
Game 1 Winning pitcher / catcher Lillian Martinez and Addison Stockford. Addison called a great game and picked off runners at the corners, awesome. Savy set the tone in the 1st inning with a triple to score 2 runs. Lots of timely hits from everyone and great base running. Klaira Salo lead the charge on the base with her delay stealing. Biggest Highlight of Game 1. Addison (catcher) to Savy (3b) to pick off girl, then Savy to Madie Hall for another out. Games was called because of run rule while we had runners in scoring position with 1 out. Great team effort and chemistry.
Hemlock 7 vs Swan Valley 7
Game 2 Winning pitcher(s) / catcher Klaira, Lyndsey, Brooke and Savy. Savy called a great game for all three pitchers, kept the runners scared at 2b with her throws. Bats started a little slow then exploded. Lillian hit a Homerun, then Lyndsey, Savy and Maddie Hall kept it going. Addison and Izzy came up huge in last inning for tying and taking the lead. Aggressive base running was huge for this game. Biggest play of game 2, Savy (catcher) to Addison (3b) for 1 out to Lillian (CF) covering 2b for another out. Coaches eye, Lillian Spillane almost took the 1st baseman out with a hit and Kassie did the same to the pitcher. Game 2 the girls showed grit to score 4 runs in their final at bat. Great effort and fight, keep it up!
