7 Habits at Home: Habit 6 - Family Synergy Activity
Materials: Paper and pencil
Instructions: Tell your child to individually, think of any body parts that are spelled using only 3 letters and write them on their paper. Hint: there are 10. After a few minutes have them work with a partner to compare answers. If they are still having trouble after that, have them walk around the room and compare answers.
Answers: 1.Ear 2.Eye 3.Lip 4.Arm 5.Leg 6.Toe 7.Gum 8.Rib 9.Jaw 10.Hip
Lesson: By working together (synergizing) we should be able to come up with all of the answers. The sum of the parts is greater than the whole.
Dear Lone Star Families,
We made it to Spring Break 2021! We have had a very stressful week here at LSE, with two homerooms out on quarantine. LSE now has our highest spike yet on the MISD Covid tracker. I believe we even beat the junior highs and high schools this week. This is not a contest we want to win.
The good news for the quarantined student and staff is that only few days of school will be missed. But spring break plans may need to be modified.
Please remember Covid guidelines during week off activities. Masking, social distance, and outdoor activities are each like a slice of swiss cheese. They all have holes in them, but the holes are not in alignment when stacked together on a sandwich. That way the mustard will not drip on your shirt and leave a stain. This is a very simplified explanation, and I did not come up with this illustration. But I sure like it. Check it out below.
Also, check out clinic web page for lots of legit Covid info

Weekly COVID Positive Case Notification (March 14-19)
Dear Lone Star Elementary Parents and Staff,
During the week of March 14-19, we were notified that 2 individuals in our building tested positive for COVID-19. The families of students who have been identified as having close contact with these individuals have been notified.
A close contact is defined as someone within 6 feet of the individual for 15 minutes or longer without protective face coverings or someone who was directly exposed to infectious secretions. We feel it is our responsibility to keep our parents and staff informed as much as possible during this time. Disinfecting of the building continues to happen on a nightly basis. Teachers and staff are diligently cleaning commonly touched surfaces throughout the day according to TEA Guidelines.
We are taking every step possible to stop the spread to others. If you are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, we strongly encourage you to consult with your health care provider and communicate with your campus nurse. We will continue to monitor the situation and report required information to the Montgomery County Health Department.
Sincerely,Lone Star Elementary Administration
