Mrs Baker's Class Newsletter

Dec. 18,2019

What is going on?

The last newsletter of this decade... I wish you the loveliest Christmas and Happy New Year. I love your kids, but do need a long winters nap to recharge my teacher battery.

Tomorrow the kids did earn an electronics day. We also have the class party at 12:15. Come if you can.

After the break...

Reading: Students will infer and determine the point of view after reading fiction.

Writing: We will be using our accumulated writing knowledge to complete a variety of Holiday writing activities.

Spelling: No Test

Grammar: None

Science: Technology in Science...Students will learn how to create google slide shows, expressing the importance of our world’s natural resources.

Math: Students will determine the value of a collection of coins up to $1.00. They will use the cent symbol, dollar sign, and the decimal point to name the value of a collection of coins. Students will effectively count by 25s, 10s, 5s, and 1s.

This and that...

Please have our kids read over the break. Maybe practice a little addition and subtraction? We will be counting money when we get back. Have grandparents teach them the value of a dollar!

Most of all enjoy your kids and family!

We were so lucky this week. Max's Grandma Carol came in to class to discuss being an Education Professor in Oregon! She was so amazing! She brought swag with her! Frisbees, Stickers, and new pens! We had a great time and learned a lot! I wish she was one of my Professors long long ago.

Horacio invited his tae kwon do instructor to come in and discuss an anti-bully campaign. We learned so much about being kind and thoughtful! Thanks for setting up Horacio and his family!

Merry Christmas!
