Making the Grade Conference

Springfield Public School District 186

Making the Grade Conference

Making the Grade Conference is held at all three District 186 high schools and is a way for members of the community to reach out to our young people and encourage them to pursue academic excellence.
What a great first half of the year for students, high schools, our community with Making the Grade Conferences! I wanted to share the ripple effect these events are having on our schools & community. Below are a few emails & news clips to let you know the impact these events have on students and others.

Mrs. Gill,
My name is Nathan H., 2013 graduate of Springfield High and I am emailing you because I would like to volunteer my time to attend one of the Making the Grade events at one of the three high schools. I understand there is one at Lanphier and Springfield Thursday, unfortunately I will be in class but definitely next semester I would really like to get involved in this. Thanks for all you’re doing for District 186, I am very impressed with your leadership and I really appreciate the positive things that are happening in 186.

Hi Artie. I’m interested in becoming involved with your mentoring program. I’ve seen stories about the program on TV. Could you give me the name of who I can contact about getting started?
Thanks. Jon D.
