Principal's Message
As we are seeing an increase in our community of those who are COVID-19 positive, I wanted to communicate the steps we are taking at EGE to combat the spread of the virus.
-keeping homeroom "family groups" from mixing inside the building when possible.
-increased emphasis on hand washing and use of sanitizer
-utilizing outdoor eating/learning areas
-limiting visitors on campus
-providing hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes in the classroom
-availability of PPE for students and staff
-frequent cleaning of high touch surfaces/areas
-misting of building
I would ask for your help in the following areas.
-Please no lunch visitors at this time
-Keep your children home who have any symptoms at all. This includes a runny nose, sore throat, fever, and/or headache.
There is no penalty for keeping children home who have symptoms or whose parents choose for them to quarantine do to Covid exposure; and doing so will help keep our schools open. We greatly appreciate your support with this. We understand it is inconvenient, and we are working hard to make it as easy as possible for you and your family.
During this time, if your student is out please be sure to notify the front office and your child's teacher so we can correctly document the absences. We will be providing classwork for your child to complete if they are able to so that they will not get behind. This can be accessed online or you can come by the front office to pick up assignments. Students who are not able to complete work due to illness will be provided ample time to complete assignments when they return. Our goal is to work together to help our students stay healthy and provide the opportunity for learning.
Let me close by thanking Nurse Pennington, our EGE staff, and all of YOU for helping to keep our Eagles healthy and learning during this school year. We appreciate you patience and support during this time.
Sincerely,
Cassie Pfeifer
Principal
