WoW Holiday Scholastic Book Fair & Jingle Event
On Wednesday, December 4, 5:00-7:00 p.m. WoW will hold an evening holiday event where families can come shop at our Scholastic Book Fair, make holiday ornaments for the birds, create cards for servicemen, eat pizza, and have fun! Families that bring toys for our Holiday Share Toy Drive and non-perishable food for the Fenton Kiwanis Holiday Food Drive will be entered into raffle for FREE Books.
WoW's Holiday Service Projects...
- Kiwanis Food Drive: Ellen Street will again participate in the Fenton Kiwanis Food Drive to provide holiday food boxes for less fortunate families in our community. We will have boxes in both lobbies for food donations. There may be an organized effort to have various classrooms bring specific foods or meal items. All food should be non-perishable. Perhaps letting your child select one of his/her favorite foods would make this more meaningful.
- Toys for WoW's Holiday Share Program: This year, instead of our usual "Toys for Tots" campaign in conjunction with the Marines, we have decided to collect toys for our own WoW Holiday Share Program. For the past several years, WoW has held an event prior to Christmas, where families have an opportunity to "shop" from specially gathered donations for Christmas gifts for their families. Most of these items have been donated and are gently used, but we also try to have a selection of new toys for this event. Each family is given one ticket per child to use for selection of a new toy. These toys have been purchased with donated money from area churches and individuals. This year, we thought it would make sense that the toys we collect --STAY IN OUR OWN COMMUNITY and be given to children from our programs. If your family would like to participate in this giving opportunity please have your child select a toy to donate to another child.
November 13--- Block, Game, and G.O.R.P. Night----Smaller Crowd, But Still Great Fun!

WoW School Agreements or Expectations--"The Big Rules"
As a school, we created a set of common agreements for us all to follow in order for our school to be a safe and fun place to be. They are:
- Be Kind: Be nice and caring to each other
- Be Safe: Help keep yourself and everyone else from getting hurt
- Be Respectful: Treat people and things like they are important and like they matter to us
- Be Responsible: Do the right thing and make good choices
Talk with your child about what these agreements should look and sound like when they are in class, in the hallway, in the cafeteria, on the playground, etc. We talk about it everyday so they know what behavior is expected.
Don't Forget WoW Hungry Howie Days!
The December Hungry Howie Fundraiser Day is Monday, December 2nd! Please show them the coupon that we send home OR tell them that you are from World of Wonder and who your child's teacher is for a chance to win a classroom pizza party! A portion of World of Wonder sales on this night is donated back to our school to help purchase classroom materials and supplies.
Read early. Read often.Your child's success depends on it is a countywide effort to get everyone to read to infants, toddlers and preschoolers…every day, everything, everywhere! People from all areas across the community are being invited to put their minds and resources together to find creative ways to make an impact.
