Foershadowing
Foreshadowing is to give clues or hints to suggest events that will occur later in the story . And The scarlet ibis also foreshadows the death of Doodle. The bird represents Doodle and its death foreshadows the death of Doodle aunt Nicey also said that the red bird gone bring bad luck.
Tone
Tone is a literary compound of composition, which encompasses the attitudes toward the subject and toward the audience.The tone of the story is regretful and reminiscent. His tone is regretful and quality in the beginning because he feel guilty for the way he treated Doodle he remembers incidents when he was cruel to Doodle and he feels bad because he had no idea that the time with his brother was limited and the death was his fault.

Setting
Setting is the place or type of surroundings where something is positioned or where an event takes place. Setting is 1911-1918 on a cotton farm in North Carolina.
Story takes place during the "blighted" summer, with the hurricane bringing down trees and ruining crops."
Smybolism
Symbolism is the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualitie. The scarlet ibis had represented how doodle is struggling to stay alive and when the bird dies so does doodle.
"They are both placed into situations where they can not survive and a place where they are alone with no one else like them. they are both weak alone and fragile."
