Open House Scheduled for August 20th

Pierce City R-VI Schools will hold an "in-person" Open House on Thursday, August 20th. We are going to do things a little differently this year, with the goal of maximizing safety for students, parents, and teachers.

We are going to do Open House in time slots by the last name of the oldest student in the household. Parents and students will have the opportunity to meet teachers, learn about the goals for the class, and ask questions. We will be accepting $20 Chromebook Insurance payments, but NOT distributing Chromebooks to students during Open House.

Thursday, August 20th

2:30 pm-3:00 pm - Families with last names beginning with letters A-D

3:10 pm-3:40 pm - E-H

3:50 pm-4:20 pm - I-L

4:30 pm-5:00 pm - M-P

5:10 pm-5:40 pm - Q-T

5:50 pm-6:20 pm - U-X

6:30 pm-7:00 pm - Y-Z

Immunization Clinic Will Take Place During Open House

The Lawrence Co. Health Department will be hosting an Immunization Clinic from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm during Open House on August 20th. They are charging $5 per immunization (or a current Medicaid card), and requiring all patrons over the age of 11 to wear a mask. They will bring required Kindergarten, 8th Grade, and 12th Grade shots as well as HPV, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Meningitis B vaccines.

Parents Can Choose "In-Person" or "Online" Learning For Their Student

If you are choosing "Online" learning for your student, please email sholden@pcschools.net to set up a meeting with our counselor and administration by August 24th. Online students will be enrolled in a virtual program called "Launch", which is offered through Springfield Public Schools. Students will be scheduled into classes based on their grade level, and need. Parents choosing this option will be required to keep their student in the online school until the end of the first semester. At that time, we will send communication home asking if the parent wants to continue their student in the program.
