Sleek, Modern Design withstands Earthquakes!
SAN JOSE - Siobhan Shannon has co-designed a section of the eastern span of the Bay Bridge, This new span has a cable stayed bridge that can survive earthquakes and weather for hundreds of years. At 350' high and up to 800' deep, it's big, sturdy and long supports driven deep into the earth's crust guarantee that nothing will knock this structure over. Cable stays and a bendable roadway allow flexibility in shaking conditions.
