EHT PRESCHOOL
Week of April 24, 2023
ADMINISTRATOR
Students had a busy week! With Spring coming into bloom, many students are learning all about gardening and caring for the Earth. Primary students used their gardening knowledge on a nice day and spent some time outside enhancing the outdoor garden. Some students were also given a tour at Primary and shown how our district helps the Earth through recycling. To continue with the Building Study, students had a visit from our district construction coordinator.
The Primary Scholastic Bookfair is around the corner. It will begin May 8th. The librarians from Swift and Slaybaugh Elementary, Ms. DeNaples and Ms. Ricci, have been working hard to organize this special event. Information will come from your child’s teacher, but below is some information. We have time for families to check out the book fair on Thursday, May 11 from 5 pm to 7 pm during the Preschool Spring Festival Family Night that will be held at the Slaybaugh Primary School.
The Bargaintown Scholastic Bookfair is scheduled for the week of May 15 to 19. Ms. McCarron has worked hard to organize this event and schedule a time for families to come to Bargaintown and check out the book selection. The Bargaintown Bookfair Night will be on Wednesday, May 17 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Information is below and will be coming out from your child’s teacher.
Sincerely,
Joe Marinelli, Principal
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
From Blueprints to Buildings!
Tie-Dye by design!
As a way of celebrating our Clothing Unit and all we've learned about clothing, Miss Molly and Miss Kathleen's Bargaintown Pre-K students each got to design our very own t-shirt with tie-dye! Each student was able to pick up to 5 colors to use on their shirt and got to see their creations come to life! We had a blast 🙂
Preschool is in full bloom!
Students from multiple classes worked together to clean the gardens of weeds and plant new flower beds. We even noticed that our decomposed pumpkins made new pumpkin sprouts.

Nex-Trex Recycling Program
Thank you all for your donations of plastics again this year. Our school has recycled 159 pounds of plastic to be recycled into Trex materials like vinyl fence and composite decking for the #NexTrexChallenge! You are helping us teach your children the benefits of helping our environment by recycling. Thank you so much Slaybaugh Primary Families!
P.S. Also, the challenge is over so you can take it off for the rest of this year!
