Letter from the Principal
Dear Central families,
All of our 1st and 2nd grade classrooms are participating in the daily take home book bags. (Kindergarten will be starting their version in February.) This is an incredibly important part of your child’s literacy development and I encourage you to set aside a time and a location every day to take the book bag out, read together, sign the paper and return it to your child’s backpack. Daily practice at your child’s specific reading level will have a huge impact on their growth in both reading and writing. Our teachers collect the bags and put new books inside daily so there is something new to read every night. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher or our Title/Lap teacher Mrs. Fague.
Is your child missing a coat or a sweatshirt? Our lost and found is overflowing with items. There are clothing items hanging on the lost and found rack in the hall and also clothes on the stage in the gym. We ask the students regularly to look at what is hanging up and not much is being claimed. We have also looked in the labels for names or initials and haven’t found any clues to reunite the items with their owner. If you are here before or after school, please stop by the hall rack and take a look. We really want to return these items to their owner.
Take care,
Heidi Rothgeb

Replacement levies on February 8, 2022 ballot
At a December 8 meeting, the Snohomish School District Board of Directors adopted resolutions to place two propositions before voters on the February 8, 2022, ballot. Voters will consider two replacement levies - Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy and the Replacement Levy for Technology, Safety and Facility Improvements. Both levies would replace similar levies approved by voters in 2018 and are set to expire at the end of 2022.

It is clear in the updated guidance and from directives from Governor Inslee that masks/face coverings are required inside of all K-12 schools and on all buses, regardless of vaccination status. This is a state requirement. Masks/face coverings are not required when outdoors. Mask/face covering exceptions may be made for students with certain medical conditions or receiving special education services in some cases and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
