The Mustang Minute

Back at It!
On Tuesday, our students in SEARCH set off on a great adventure down south. They have traveled to Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown to learn about Colonial American History. From the pictures and videos I have been receiving, it seems they are having a great time!
Here in New England, we found a couple of beautiful days to get outside after lunch this week. It was great to get some fresh air and a chance to run around a bit between the rain storms! I think we are all hoping for a few more days of sun!
Our grade 7 and 8 students had a presentation on social media and cyber-bullying this week by Tim Smith from the MARC center. The Norwood Police Department and Suffolk County District Attorney sponsored this event. We will be doing smaller follow up conversations with our students as we try to get them to see the long term negative affects of using social media for harmful purposes.
Our English classes have started their foray into Elizabethan England as our 7th and 8th grade classes begin a study of Shakespeare. Grade 8 will be having some fun with a Midsummer Night's Dream and grade 7 gets to explore how teenage love and drama have not changed much in 500 years as they look at Romeo and Juliet!
Tomorrow is the Annual Art Festival at Norwood high School and we have many student's with works in the show, please take a moment tomorrow to stop by and admire the hard work of the students in Norwood!
Have a wonderful weekend!
