Meet the School Counselors!

Every week, we will introduce you to one of our school counselors. This week we are featuring Ms. Osborn. Kimberly Osborn is a School Counselor serving students with the last names Li-Ro and serves as AP Coordinator. Ms. Osborn is in her ninth year at Phoenixville Area High School, and prior to working at PAHS she worked with college student-athletes.

Ms. Osborn earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in sociology and journalism/science writing from Lehigh University, followed by her Masters in Education in Secondary School Counseling. She is continuing her education at Lehigh University towards a doctorate in educational leadership.

In addition to graduate work, Ms. Osborn spends as much time outside as possible with her partner and family, including ocean kayaking, hiking, cross country skiing and relaxing on the beach. She also enjoys reading, eating ice cream and attempting to craft (but you won’t be finding her Etsy shop anytime soon).

“I am proud of how strong the Phoenixville community is, including the care students have for one another and their resiliency through the recent changes and challenges. I am grateful for the opportunity to support our students through their high school experience.”

Cradles to Crayons

Our Cradles to Crayons Club will be sponsoring a donation drive in the coming weeks. Their mission is to provide children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. Please see flyer below for more information and consider donating to this worthwhile cause.

Parent Training - Trauma Informed Practice

PASD will be offering a parent training on Trauma-Informed Practice on October 19th. Parents and Caregivers can play an important role in helping children recover from traumatic events. This workshop is designed to provide introductory information about the impact of trauma and the power of relationships to help children heal. The more parents and caregivers understand how trauma effects children, the more they will understand the reasons for kids’ behaviors and emotions, and the more they will be able to help them cope.
