✏️ State Assessments - ACAP and ACT 🖥️
April is the month for state-required assessments for many students at ACS. Students in 2nd through 8th grade will take ACAP tests this month, while 11th grade students will take the ACT. These tests are an important measure of student learning. The scores give teachers information about individual student learning needs, as well as the learning needs of larger groups of students.
Some tips for helping students do their bests on these important tests:
1. Get enough sleep (8-9 hours) the night before a test.
2. Eat a nutritious breakfast.
3. Prepare clothes and supplies the night before to reduce stress on the morning of the test.
4. Arrive on-time to school.
5. Think positively about the test. Ex. "I will do my best on this test."
6. Listen carefully and follow instructions.
For a humorous take on what NOT to do on test day, enjoy the Mr. Bean video below. 🫣
