February CFHS Counseling Update
2020-21 Registration, ACT Prep and more
Scheduling update for 2021-22 school year
The high school counselors have shared the scheduling/registration presentation with ALL juniors and sophomores.
If you have not seen the presentation or would like to watch it again, please check out the virtual presentation 2021-22 Scheduling Presentation.
If you need to find any other information about courses, forms, or presentations, check the CFHS Course information page.
Juniors and sophomores need to have their courses entered in power school by Tuesday, February 23rd. We recommend you write down the courses first on the registration/scheduling 2021-22 sheet before you submit. Once you submit, you will not be able to make changes until the meeting with your counselor. If you need a quick reminder on how to add your courses to power school, please watch PowerSchool Scheduling Reminders.
School counselors will start individual meetings with students on February 23rd. Please come prepared with your courses entered in power school.
This is such an important process so please take it seriously and make great choices for 2021-22!!

- Students need to be visiting with their parents/guardians about their course requests and having discussions about what is the best fit to prepare them for the next step!
- Please review the requests with your student and help him/her to make good choices. We have so many great options at Cedar Falls High School. Make every class count!! The scheduling and registration process is so important and we are fortunate to have great options for our students. Please take time to check out ALL of the options and make sure students meet CFHS graduation requirements, postsecondary requirements, and allow for exploration!!

Save the Date! ICR Future Virtual Career & College Fair 2021 is Virtual on March 28!
Engaging with prospective colleges and learning about potential career opportunities is a vital part of the planning process. To continue to meet the safety needs of our community during COVID-19, the 2021 ICR Fair will be virtual. Each exhibitor will have a virtual booth and be available to talk face-to-face with students and parents online.
We are encouraging sophomores and juniors to attend, however, the event is open to everyone.
Important Recommendations for Students
- Career Assessment. Students will be encouraged to complete a career assessment to align with the Career Cluster designations for exhibitors. If students have completed assessments at school and can access to the results, please encourage them to review their results prior to the fair.
- Register to Attend. We have an online registration process to gain access to the fair lobby. Please encourage students and parents to register.
- Expanded Opportunities. A virtual fair means distance is no longer a barrier for students and parents. Every Iowa high school student should be encouraged to participate. With an expected registration of nearly 100 exhibitors, it will be a day they don't want to miss!
