The life of Gandhi
The leader of India independence
Gandhi's fight for independence
Mahatma Gandhi was an Indian man who wanted to help India break free from the British. Instead of using weapons and conquering by force like the British, Gandhi believed in non-violence. He followed the principles of satygraha, not resisting arrest, not resorting to violence, and forcing suffering onto themselves.

The Salt March
One of the biggest movements Gandhi took part in was the salt march. After becoming infuriated by the British putting huge taxes on salt, he and thousands of other Indian men and women marched down to the ocean and made salt. Once he pulled a handful of salt from the ocean, he raised he hand into the air and proudly proclaimed; "With this, I am shaking the foundation of the British empire!"
