I hope your extended weekend was glorious and you enjoyed the amazing weather that we need so much. Take a moment this week to admire the incredible work that you do for your students. Think of the many ways you help them as learners and to become their very best selves.

Spirit Day - Cultural Heritage Day

Read Aloud

I have been into lots of classes to read this great book about making things. Perfect for the upcoming Maker Week. Schedule a time with me or Regina to read in your class if you haven't yet.

What is BEST?

It came up in leadership that we should probably all know what the acronym BEST stands for. BEST stands for Building Effective Schools Together. We have 6 goals: 1) Hold a best day (done); 2) our behavior expectations and action steps clearly defined for parents, students, and teachers; 3) review and improve Panther Paws; 4) Post cards home; 5) Train yard supervisors; 6) Golden Ticket Visits. Looking over this list, I am happy to see that we have made good progress on all these goals and have strong plans for the others. If you would like to look at these goals or the curriculum from our BEST day, I have put all our BEST resources together in one place. Just click the link below.

Walk to Read

Walk to Read for 4/5 will start this Wednesday since a number of teachers will be at the writing training on Tuesday. Walk to Read for 2/3 will begin the following week since 3rd is out Tuesday and 2nd is out on Thursday.

For 3-5th grade students, Conceptua is now set up and ready to go. Please make sure you revisit this and give it a try. With all the resources we have available, we need to knwo which ones are worth continuing.

There is a link on the favorites bar of the lab computers. Fred has asked Daniel to add it to the Prestwood lab page. Student login is standard user name/password used for AR/STAR, Lexia, and Typing Agent. Fred has an administrator account to add new students.

Chorus Practice

Chorus practice begins next week. Bob will use 62 somehow with 50 plus students and tables but will not be able to break room down and get to EV on time and set up so will need help. Will try and use MPR on that Thursday but will have to pre-setup 50 chairs - perhaps can do right after lunch.

Our district grade level meeting is coming up on January 25. During that time, you will need to know your log in and password for the CAASP website. If you need help or have any questions, please contact Beth Vallee.
