Support Your Timberwolf "Shake It Up Dance-a-Thon"
What is it? Our Dance-A-Thon is a fun event to encourage students to lead a healthy, active lifestyle! We will celebrate with our 3rd Annual “Shake It Up for Tiffany Ridge Dance-A-Thon” on Tuesday, November 22nd! The Dance-A-Thon will also raise money to continue to fund teacher grant requests for classroom projects. Park Hill funds are only available to cover a small portion of the cost for these items. This fundraiser will allow 100% of the money raised to be used for our students.
Our goal is to have 100% participation, with at least ONE pledge per student!
The 3 classrooms that raise the most pledge money will earn a special celebration!
When is it? Our Dance-A-Thon fundraiser will be on Tuesday, November 22nd. Each class will dance for 60 minutes during their assigned times. Fundraiser envelopes will be sent home with students beginning on Tuesday, November 15th.
Who can participate? All students will participate in the Dance-A-Thon! Families are encouraged to participate and assist their children in collecting pledges from family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. Even if students are unable to collect pledges, they will still participate and enjoy the Dance-A-Thon!. We will play fun music and have some games too, such as Limbo, the Chicken Dance, the Macarena, and the Hokey Pokey!
How does it work? Students collect pledges prior to the Dance-A-Thon and record them on the pledge envelope, which will be sent home prior to the Dance-A-Thon event. Please be sure to collect the money when the pledge is made. All pledge envelopes and money are due in the office by Tuesday, November 22nd. The goal is to raise money for our school, participate in healthy behaviors and have some fun with our friends! Thanks for your help to make this a successful event!

1000 Paper Cranes
Hello Tiffany Ridge students, teachers, and parents!
Do you like origami? If you do, I would like to invite you to join in a collaborative art project! We are going to make 1000 paper cranes! These are a symbol of peace and good luck in Japanese culture.

The Story of Sadako’s Paper Cranes of Peace
The goal is to have 500 made by the holiday break and 1.000 by the end of the year--we already have over 200! Bring your paper cranes to the art room and I will assemble them to be on display in the case under the stairs.

I will give them away at the end of the year to all classrooms to hang up or give to students.
Service Project: Helping Others in Need!
Winter and the holidays are fast approaching. The Giving Tree is our Tiffany Ridge student winter service project. We have many TR families who are struggling with finances and purchasing groceries for their families right now. If you would like to participate and help our TR family, you can purchase gift cards (any amount is appreciated) from Hy-Vee, Aldi or Walmart. Parents and/or students can bring them to the front office between December 5-19. Your student will be given a gift tag to hang on our holiday tree. Let’s fill the tree with TR love and support! If you have any questions, please reach out to Gayle Laney, TR Social Worker at 816-359-5747. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
Character Trait of the Month: Cooperation
Students are still learning about Cooperation in their classrooms and across our school this month. Here is this week’s Family Cooperation Challenge!
Review Cooperation as a family! Search through your cupboards for some board games your family has not played in a while, or grab a deck of cards for a simple game of Go Fish. Pop some popcorn and have fun playing together! Look for moments of Cooperation that you can point out. For example:
- Choosing which game to play
- Choosing who gets to go first
- Handling wins and losses
- Working together to solve a problem
What is an AMI (Alternate Method of Instruction) Day?
If there were to be a "snow" day this year, students would continue to learn from home by having an AMI day. As we approach the winter months, we want to share our school's plan for what learning will be on an AMI day.
The state allocated five AMI (alternative methods of instruction) distance learning days, which means that on bad weather days, all students will learn from home from 9 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. On the sixth bad-weather day, we will call a snow day, which would mean all students will not have school.
Dr. Rios will email ALL Tiffany Ridge Families at 8:00am to let them know that they will receive communication from their child's classroom teacher no later than 9:00 am. Your student's teacher will communicate learning plans for the day, including any times for online "teams" meetings and the specific learning plan for your students. For more information, see details at the link HERE.
weekly pack point winners!
At Tiffany Ridge, we utilize Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS). We recognize students who are actively meeting our four core expectations of being a Problem Solver, Acting Responsibly, Caring for Everyone, and Keeping Safe. We will highlight students in various ways over the course of the year. Here are last week's winners!
November Curriculum Connections
Check out the linked Curriculum Connections below to see what our Timberwolves will be working on in each subject area during the month of November! We want to share the learning topics at all of the grade levels so that you are familiar with what topics and content are taught this month! Your child's teacher is always happy to provide more details should you have questions!
