Professional Learning: Rigorous Classrooms & Assessments
Join us in the Tech Lab 2nd, 6th, or 7th
Teacher of the Week: Ms. Perkins
Ms. Perkins along with the rest of her PLC developed a student-paced and personalized instructional plan for students to learn about economics. Students completed a graphic organizer utilizing classroom resources and videos and a review activity, then took an assessment. Students who scored a 90% or above moved on to extension activities while students below 90% got additional practice and/or teacher small group time. Students got what they needed when they needed it. Additionally, she and her PLC invited a coach in for feedback before executing the strategy again.
Student Tech Ticket Procedure
- Mr. Lee’s office will be relocated to the media center. Mrs. Elder will move into room 702. This will make the media center the central hub (and only place) that students report to and receive support service.
- Students will come to the media center to submit a ticket at the kiosk.
- After submitting their ticket, they will check in with Mrs. Smith at the media desk. They will provide their name, current teacher, and the problem. During Mr. Lee’s office hours, he will be there to resolve the issue.
- Mr. Lee’s daily office hours are 8 – 9:30, 11 – 1:30, 2:45 – 3:30
- If the ticket is submitted outside of the above hours, one of two scenarios will occur:
- If Mr. Lee is in his office, the student will see him to resolve the issue.
- If Mr. Lee is not in his office, Mrs. Smith and/or Mrs. Miller will attempt to troubleshoot the issue. If they cannot fix it, they will provide the information above (see #3) to Mr. Lee upon his return. The student will return to class and Mr. Lee will then report to the student.
- The student will always return to class with a pass signed by Mrs. Smith, Ms. Miller or Mr. Lee. This way, you know the amount of time the student spent in the media center to ensure their accurate location (not wandering).
Learn to use APPs and iOs11
The Tech Crew is in the process of creating iTunes University Courses for you and our students so that you can learn how to use Apps in our catalog and iOs 11. These are self-paced courses. These are works in progress, so if you have an idea, please email me! If you're interested, they are in iTunes University on your iPad. Feel free to check them out by clicking onto the links below:
