Child care receive funding for Professional Development

Professional Development Funding

Grants were introduced in 2009 for Early childhood staff to have the opportunities to attend professional development to enhance the quality care to the children in their care. There is $675,00 in grant funding available for child care centers depending on the number of child care spaces to a maximum of :
  • $3,500 for centres with 61-90 spaces;
  • $2,500 for centres with 31-60 spaces;
  • $1,500 for centres with 30 or fewer spaces;
  • $600 for licensed group homes (an increase of $200 from last year); and
  • $300 for licensed homes.

The Government of Saskatchewan

"The Government of Saskatchewan recognizes that high-quality early childhood experiences contribute significantly to young people's future success," Education Minister Russ Marchuk said. "Professional development for licensed child care staff and board members helps ensure children have the best possible care during such an important time in their development."
