MADSCI NEWS
Science and Technology's Semi-Regular Department Newsletter
December 2, 2015
WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND THE DEPARTMENT?
Something that we all know is that we do some really great things in our department. The thing we are not doing a great job of is self-promotion. I am creating this newsletter program to try and address that.
In each newsletter I would like to feature what is going on in (and out) of our classrooms. Sometimes the most powerful discussions result when we find out what each other is doing - new ideas come about, collaborations flourish, and general awesomeness ensues. We've had many interdisciplinary discussions across content areas, grade levels, and schools where we've learned what is happening in other classrooms that we may have had no idea about!
This is a newsletter for us. I don't have intentions to send it out to the world. Maybe that will change, but let's see how it goes. (The world should know how good MADS&T is!)
I'm going to need you to help me fill in the blanks. I will be reaching out to all of you for some feedback about what you are working on, but feel free to volunteer that information to me! (send it in an email!)
Thanks!
-Tom
FACULTY SPOTLIGHT
LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!
You can be part of the action - Jeff and his students are looking for interesting activities, events, and happenings to feature in our channel programming. Want to be the next Mr./Ms. Wizard? Have a cool science demo that would look great on film? Have a club activity to promote? See Jeff and he will help you make ideas a reality!
