A Note from Mrs. Stefanich
Welcome back Park Eagles!
It's been so great having your students back in our hallways and classrooms, even with a snow day here or there. If you haven't been to the school since break, you'll be excited to see that our gymnasium wall is up in the front of the building! So far it looks absolutely beautiful, and we have a great team of people working to continue construction through the winter weather and the snow. We are on schedule to have our three classrooms on the South of the building, along with our gym open for the 2024-25 school year.
Our Growth Mindset Statement for January is "I have Grit!" Grit is the ability to keep going, even when things are challenging or tricky. Whether it's learning to tie your shoes, or learning your multiplication facts, it can be frustrating when it doesn't stick the first time. Having GRIT means persevering through the difficulties and believing you will achieve your goals with practice and effort. What are some ways you've shown grit as an adult? Sharing these examples with your children helps them realize grit is a quality we want to strive to have long into adulthood!
Wishing you warmth and safety through these snowy days,
Mrs. Stefanich
SNOW GEAR!
Reminder: Our students play outside every morning before school. Please send your child to school in snow pants and boots so they don't start their day soaking wet at school. We've had lots of friends carrying snow pants and crawling through the snow in their school clothes. We love our students to have the opportunity to play outside, and also stay warm and dry. Thank you!

Welcome to 2024, let’s make it a great year!
This month we will begin working on our volleyball skills. Our 2nd-4th grades will be playing a variety of games that will lead up to a game of volleyball and 9 Square in the air towards the end of the month. K-1 Will be working those skills into their stations. We will also begin a variety of fitness activities including a sustained jog to help us prepare for future fitness testing.
Kids Heart Challenge information will be coming home towards the end of the month for all students. Our actual event day will be Feb 14th-19th during the time that your child would normally have PE.
Children will need gym shoes to participate in PE. Gym shoes have rubber bottoms, straps, laces or stretchies to keep them on and they must cover the entire foot. Crocs, Hey Dudes, sandals, boots, etc are not safe in PE. Students should bring shoes every day, even when they have a different special. This will help them be prepared to do their best.
Follow the Park PE facebook page for the weekly class schedule, updates and fun pictures of our time together in PE!

EPIC Buddies and their EPIC Coach will assist our EPIC players as they practice soccer drills and play in a weekly game. School Breakfast and Lunch Information
Breakfast and Hot Lunch are available everyday to all students. This year, school lunches are once again free to our students! This is such wonderful news and we look forward to feeding your children each day! Of course, you can still pack a lunch for your child if you prefer. (As a reminder, hot lunch is only free if your child takes a fruit or vegetable on their tray. Please remind them they have to *at least* put it on their tray for the lunch to be free.)

- Apply for Free and Reduced Price Meal benefits! If you are wondering if you would qualify, here are the Income Guidelines. Free and Reduced Meal Benefits are based on household size, income amount (gross), and income frequency. We encourage all families to apply, even though school lunches are free. Applying is confidential, and provides our school with additional supports for students.
- You will need to register a new account to monitor accounts or deposit online; Send Money to School accounts no longer exist.
- Regardless of benefits status, Milk-only purchases remain at $0.50 per carton. Milk is included as part of the whole MEAL benefit. However, if all your child wants is a carton of milk, their account will be charged 50 cents.
