MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL LAMBERT
Dear Parents,
To enhance student safety and security, we have a new sign-in system in the office. This system is the same as all other schools in MVWSD. Visitors will present their identification to be scanned and a visitor's sticker will print out for you to wear while on campus. When leaving you will scan that sticker to sign-out.
This same procedure will apply to anyone checking out a student early from school.
If a person does not have any I.D., they will need to give their name and birthdate and we will search for them in the system and print out the visitor sticker.
If you have any questions at all about how this new system works, please feel free to talk with me.
Warm Regards,
Theresa Lambert, Principal

MVEF NEWS
Don’t miss the chance to see the incredible art work created by MVWSD students at the upcoming open houses. The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) will be showcasing student art projects at every school. The District's portion of art instruction is funded entirely by MVEF thanks to donations from parents like you! If you have not donated this year you can do so at mvef.org/donate.
Take a break from the kitchen and help fund art, music, science, and athletics in our schools. The Counter Restaurant, located at 2850 W. El Camino Real, will donate 15% of your bill to the Mountain View Educational Foundation, Monday April 8th- Thursday 11th. Just mention MVEF or show the attached flyer!
Middle School electives selection coming soon
It is the time of year when our incoming middle school students (grades 5-7) choose their electives courses for next year. As we enter the second year of the new inclusive middle school schedule, our middle schools are currently working to refine quality offerings that we hope will pique students’ interests and that are a great complement to our core academics.
Look for an email to parents on April 26 with course descriptions and selection directions. All 5th-7th graders will select their course electives online May 1- 10, 2019 through their PowerSchool portal. Your student will be assigned to an individualized schedule of classes based on his/ her academic needs and interests. To check your access, log on to https://ps.mvwsd.org/public/. If you have difficulty signing in, please contact your school office.
Let’s Talk: Testing
This time is an opportunity to measure the skills of all students against the same academic standards, and get important information about our students’ progress. Learn more in this eighth episode in the "Let's Talk" video series. There are also links to resources and practice tests on www.mvwsd.org.

Parents will learn…
approaches parents can use to understand the impact that we are having today
techniques and approaches parents can use to have an even more positive impact in the future.
