Upper Elementary re-set
Students in grades 3-6 have started a "re-set". An important note went home last week and teachers are communicating with families. We are working hard on correct 3 top behaviors. Those are listed below. We appreciate your support and assistance as we work with all students.
1. One speaker at a time
2. The "3-S" line: silent, straight, still
3. Permission to leave assigned area including the classroom, the line or an assigned seat.
Montessori Early Childhood
In a Montessori classroom, students work in an area called, Practical Life. Within this area, the child learns 3 important skills. These skills are life skills that will carry the student far beyond their years at Emerson.
Students learn: care of the environment (sweeping, polishing, cleaning, and gardening)
care of the person (setting the table, buttoning, and tying)
grace and courtesy (walking carefully, rolling a mat, and using manors.
