"What Is Media Literacy"
This is my 250 Word Sample.Media Literacy is a measure on how clear a piece of media presents its topic to their audience.
What is media literacy?
I am not exactly sure what media literacy is.It is an entirely new concept that I have never heard if or thought about. However, I believe media literacy might be a concept that deals with how clearly the media presents their points to the audience. For example, CNN writes about an issue in another country but they word it to where a person misinterprets the situation and is unable to come to a true conclusion. Therefore, CNN’s report has bad media literacy because they are not wording their point clearly enough. However, let's say that CNN is clear with putting their point across;therefore, they are represented as having a good media literacy.I suppose media literacy could also mean how serious that media is.For instance, one article could be talking about how a man shot up a school while the other article is talking about someone who got robbed. In terms of media literacy the article about the man who shot up the school has higher media literacy than the article talking about someone who got robbed because a shot up school is little bit more important than a person who got robbed. Therefore, the school shooting article is determined to have a higher media literacy just because it is a very important issue that many people will have a strong opinion about. These are just a few ideas that I have that might be the definitions of of media literacy.Hopefully I can learn more about media literacy but at the moment I have no idea what media literacy is.
