STEM Lecture - Recycling Challenge - Dec 16
Come see EHS students compete against assistant principals Dennis Hill and Ben Johnson in the first ever EHS Recycling Challenge! Who do you think will win? Come on down to the auditorium during flex on Monday, December 16th to find out. Rhonda Mace from Chittenden Solid Waste District will be on hand to officiate the challenge and to provide information on proper recycling practices.
STEM Friday - Dec 20
Our last STEM Friday of 2019 is coming up, you will be able to choose from the following activities:
- Laser Cut Snowflakes - Learn to use the laser cutter and make some fun holiday decorations. D104, Mr. Stapleton
- Science Olympiad - We will continue our preparation for the VT Science Olympiad Championships at UVM on Saturday, Mar 28. You can attend this even if you didn't go to the earlier meeting. C114, Ms. Vanoli and Ms. O'Neil
- Math Madness - This online math competition has been going on since the beginning of the year. Math Office, Ms. McNamara
- 3D printed hand build - We be continuing our build of a prosthetic hand. You can attend this even if you didn't go to the earlier meeting. D104, Mr. Horne and Mrs. Smith
- Injury Review and Wrapping - You will learn about some common injuries and how to wrap them with orthopedic tape. C112, Mr. Labonte
- Intro to Arduino Programming - This activity will show the potential of Physical Computing. This means writing code that has effects in the physical world. You can attend this even if you didn't go to the earlier meeting. Limited to the first 12 sign-ups. C211, Mr. Chase
- Science Fair prep - If you are interested in preparing a project for the VT State Science Fair in March, we are interested in helping you succeed. You can attend this even if you didn't go to the earlier meeting. C115, Dr. Walogorsky
- Recycling Challenge - We took video at the Recycling Challenge on Dec 16, join us to make a promotional video from that footage. As a bonus, we will also make snowflakes from recycled paper! C113, Ms. Hill, Ms. Bessy and Mr. Weiss
Vermont Mathematics Fair
The Vermont Council of Teachers of Mathematics is once again sponsoring a Mathematics Fair for student projects on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the University of Vermont.
All Vermont students in grades K-12 are eligible to enter. Click here for more information.Please see Ms. McNamara if you are interested in participating.
