No pain, lots of game
By Levi J.
Purpose Statement:
The purpose of this experiment was to test if video games can be a pain reliver. I became interested in this experiment because it involes video games. The information gained from this experiment will help others know if playing video games could act as pain reliver.
Research:
It is belive that video games can be pain relivers. When playing video games, we temporarliy forget about the pain. Some studies show that in the world of gaming, some people that are undergoing serious events like chemo therapy, say they have less stress when they play video games.
Video games can also be a form of exersise like a test of your will, for example. Gaming may or may not help with the physical pain. With pain that is lack of social skills, friends, or a girl freind, you'd need to come up with totally different type of gaming.
Hypothesis:
My hypothesis is gaming will be like a pain reliver. I base my hypothesis on the imformation that I researched.
Materials:
2 or 3 different games Video games: action packed or any type you have
2 or 3 people to test
Variable:
Constants: where you got hurt, play time is one hour each
IV: games you play
DV: the result.
Procedures:
1. Get hurt.
2. Play video games for 1 hour
3. Change video game
4. Repeat steps untill you have played video games for 3 hours
Observations Log/Data
Results:
The original purpose of this experiment was to see if video games could be like a pain reliever. The results of the experiment were that video games can work as a pain relivers.
Conclusion:
My hypothesis was gaming will be like a pain reliver. The results indicate that this hypothesis should be considered correct. Based on the results of this experiment is play video games to reduce pain. If I were to conduct this science fair project again I would try playing different games.
