Zone Health and Wellness Expo Success Over 600 Zone attendees visited the annual expo to learn about the resources available to our parents and students. The Expo was filled with student performances, group classes, and over 25 vendors. | Remington hosts S.T.E.M Night 200 students and families participated in multiple science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) themed activities. These included edible mud, escape rooms, and homemade catapults. Mehki Reese Goes Above and Beyond Expectations Mehki Reese, 2018 Grad, Student Body President, and 2017 Homecoming King, earned the Boetcher Scholarship as well as Daniels Fund Scholarship, awarding him with a full ride to any 4 year university. Mehki has committed to USC in the fall, majoring in Computer Science. Sarah, an 8th grader at Horizon, was recognized at the end of the school year for earning Gold Level in Renaissance for all three years of middle school. This level is attained by maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Great work, Sarah!
Congratulations to the Class of 2018!
Sand Creek HS grads and family members entered the World Arena on Saturday, May 26th for the Class of 2018 Graduation Ceremony, where 274 Sand Creek seniors received their diploma. “It’s been one wild ride. Four years have come and gone and we couldn’t have done it without those around us,” said, Kendyll Cox, senior class president. “High school isn’t like high school musical at all. There aren’t people breaking out to choreographed dances in the middle of lunch, except me on the occasional Tuesday,” said Mehki Reese, student body president. Valedictorian, Katrina Smith, gave her speech. “We are who we are today because of the people here. I am who I am not just because of my friends, my family or favorite teachers. I am who I am because of them and people I don’t even know. That could be said for every one of us,” stated Smith. Teacher of the Year, Linda Herrera, gave a touching speech using the Boston Marathon winner, Desiree Linden, as an example of why it’s important to show up. Students were then awarded diplomas followed by the tassel ceremony. #D49GradsShine
