Glenholme School Newsletter
Term 1- Week 6, 10th March 2022
Kia ora koutou,
This week the Tihiōtonga team were fortunate to have the team from the Aquatic Centre working with the classes with the ‘Making the Difference Swimming Programme’. We are so fortunate to have professional swimming instructors working alongside the classroom teachers every day for a week.
It is a win for both the teachers who are able to learn about teaching swimming and the tamariki who receive free lessons. Thank you to Whaea Allyson who has shared photos of her class during their swimming time this week.
We continue to have a number of our tamariki and staff members who are testing positive with COVID-19. This week we have had an average of 55% of our tamariki attending school. So far we have managed well with a mixture of face to face learning for the students who are here at school and home learning for students who have tested positive or who are isolating. Some classes have needed to be split to cope with the number of staff members who are away.
Thank you to our staff who are all pulling together to ensure our tamariki can attend school and to keep their programmes as normal as possible. At the moment Glenholme School is doing incredibly well during these challenging times.
